Kidz with Leukemia:
A Space Adventure- (three pathways: ages 4-7, 7-11, and adult) a fun CD Rom game to learn about leukemia, its treatment, and side effects. Complete with different levels of learning, games and videos, this adventure offers a great boost of comraderie for children and their families facing leukemia. "Kidz with Leukemia" is currently available only on the PC platform and not the Macintosh. Starbright Foundation (kids and teens):
Programs that empower seriously and chronically ill children through education, entertainment and technology. Products include a series of CD ROM programs that provide information about medical conditions and procedures (like Spinal Taps, Bone Marrow Aspirations and Medical Imaging) in kid friendly terms. Also available are videos featuring teens talking about the challenges they face living with a chronic medical condition. My Hair's Falling Out... Am I Still Pretty? (for school age children):
22 minute video for children with cancer, their families and classrooms. Actress Colleen Goddard portrays a variety of people in the childhood cancer world (patient, family members, doctor, etc.) and combines music and dance to create an open door for creative expression. Can be ordered seperately or with a workbook (Things Change All The Time...when someone you know has cancer) for school and hospital presentations. Andrew the Bug (ages 4-10):
A 3D computerized bug, Andrew, and coloful computer generated background mixed with actual video of a young Leukemia patient, Jules, as he journeys through hospital stays and like with cancer as a 6 year old. Why, Charlie Brown, Why? (ages 4-10):
A Charles Schultz "Peanuts" video dealing with one of the kids diagnosis and treatment for leukemia. Available through resource library borrowing at many children's cancer treatment centers, pediatric social work departments of hospitals, and some branches of the American Cancer Society. Or access this helpful "Peanuts" video through the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's web site: www.leukemia-lymphoma.org and look for your local patient services manager who will then help you locate a copy to borrow.

Discovery to Recovery:
